EXTENDED INFORMATION ON THE USE OF COOKIES – COOKIE POLICY OF THIS WEBSITE
In accordance with the provisions of the Italian Data Protection Authority's measure of May 8, 2014, regarding the "Identification of simplified procedures for the information and acquisition of consent for the use of cookies," the following is the extended information regarding the use of cookies by this site.
INFORMATION ABOUT COOKIES
What are cookies
Cookies are small strings of text that websites visited by the user send to their viewing device, usually to the browser, where they are stored to be retransmitted to the same websites upon the user's next visit. While browsing a site, the user may also receive cookies sent by different websites or web servers (so-called "third parties"), which may contain certain elements, such as images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages of other domains present on the website being visited.
Cookies, usually present in large numbers in users' browsers and sometimes with significant persistence over time, are used for different purposes such as performing computer authentications, session monitoring, storing information on specific configurations regarding users accessing the server, etc.
Types of cookies
Cookies are divided into two main categories: "technical" cookies and "profiling" cookies.
Technical cookies
Technical cookies are those used solely for the purpose of "carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide that service" (see Art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Code).
They are not used for further purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or operator of the website. They can be divided into navigation or session cookies, which ensure normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, purchases or authentication to access reserved areas).
"Analytics cookies" are assimilated to technical cookies, when used directly by the website operator, to collect information in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself. Functionality cookies allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided.
Another type of cookie is the so-called "Flash Cookie" (Local Shared Objects), used within Adobe Flash Player to provide certain content, such as video clips or animations, in order to remember settings and preferences. Flash cookies are stored on the device, but are managed through a different interface than the one provided by the browser used.
The Adobe website http://www.adobe.com/devnet/security.html provides information on how to remove or disable Flash cookies for a specific domain.
The installation of such cookies does not require the prior consent of users, while the obligation to provide information pursuant to Art. 13 of the Code remains, which the website operator, if only such devices are used, may provide in the manner deemed most appropriate.
Profiling cookies
Profiling cookies are aimed at creating user profiles and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while browsing the web. Due to the particular invasiveness that such devices may have in the private sphere of users, European and Italian regulations require that the user be adequately informed about their use and thus express valid consent.
They are referred to in Art. 122 of the Code, which provides that "the storage of information in the terminal equipment of a contracting party or user or access to information already stored is permitted only on condition that the contracting party or user has given their consent after being informed by the simplified procedures referred to in Article 13, paragraph 3" (Art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Code).
DESCRIPTION OF COOKIES USED ON THIS WEBSITE TECHNICAL COOKIES
These are cookies installed by the website the user is visiting. They are necessary for browsing the website, allow the use of main features, protect the connection, maintain session identifiers, and store authentication information.

In most browsers, cookies are enabled by default; the user can decide whether to accept them or not using their browser settings.
